Time Warner defines corporate greed. This is what happened: While watching the Atlanta Braves Vs. Colorado Rockies yesterday (sunday apr.18 2010)I noticed early in the game that commercials would interrupt the game while in play. Actually, they run commercials IN...Read more

Time Warner Cable in Columbus, Ohio - Time Warner Will Deceive You
CAUTION-BEWARE-CAUTION When you purchase the Time Warner (TW) bundle package, buyer beware because you are not locked into the initial agreed price for the entire 24 month period. Time Warner will deceive you by not fully explaining that after the first 13 month they will increase that price, and they can increase it by whatever they want. Even after you prove to them that their verbal contract did not clearly state that there would be an increase, you the consumer are wrong. (Even the TW representative agreed it wasn't clear.) The TW Representative told us we were sent a written contract, clearly stating on the second page, there would be a price increase in 13 months. We honestly did not get this written contract. When we asked for verification of sending this written contract, he stated, we should have received it in a TW welcoming letter one month after we signed up. We keep all, yes all, the information we receive from our utility providers. Guess what, it not in the file. You see TW doesn't make mistake, they are perfect. In addition, BUYER BEWARE that when you ask a question or cost from one of TW representative's does not mean that when you talk to the next TW Representative it will be the same or even close. TW Representatives will quickly say or imply that you didn't understand what you were being told, or they'll say I don't know why you were told that. What it comes down to is you, the consumer's are dishonest and not trustworthy! When I repeatedly explained my problem to 6 different TW representatives I was told that I was being difficult to work with, when all I wanted was for them to honor the quoted price for the 24 month TW bundle service. Get this, TW will tell you that your conversation may be recorded, but when ask the TW representative to check their recordings of your previous conversation, they can't. WHY! Also, BUYER BEWARE that when your initial 24 month contract expires, TW will automatically renew your contract for another 24 month. The only notification about this will be attached to your monthly bill. Oh yea, don't to try cancel the contract before you receive this notice, because TW will not or can not recognize it. Finally, in my ending conversation with TW, I told him, "It appears no matter what I say or have been told, everything it set to the favor of TW, he replied, "Yep".
Time Warner Cable in Greensboro, North Carolina - Customer No Service
I recently signed up for TWC cable and internet. I was notified shortly after about a previous account that I had notified the credit bureau of fraudulent/unauthorized charges. The Collections rep was all but helpful and demanded that I pay for the charges, even though it was successfully disputed off of my credit report for fraud and I advised her that these charges were not mine. I asked her to send me the document regarding ID theft even though this didn't quite qualify but I wanted to read the document. I did advise her that it would be unlikely that I could get a police report, because this took place probably 6 or 7 years ago, if not longer. Once we completed the call, she w/o my knowledge, disconnected some of my services that I've already paid for. I am paid up through the 18th of this month, and I am now down to basic cable w/ a digital box. I called customer service/collections back and they advised me that the rep had initiated the "soft disconnect" and that I couldn't have further service unless the previous account was paid in full...they didn't even acknowledge the fraud document being mailed...if the rep, Julie, even mailed it. I asked about the money that I paid regarding my new account, would that go towards my previous account balance, since I'm not receiving the services that I've already paid for, the rep said no but said I would receive a refund once fully disconnected...it took me questioning him several times about that before he even mentioned a refund, which makes me skeptical of that. I even offered to "throw in the towel" and make a payment arrangement and they refused it. They said it would have to be paid in full at this point. I admit that I wasn't very nice to the first rep, Julie, that I spoke with, but she should have made me aware of the situation...and if I requested the document regarding the ID theft, she should send it; I also don't understand why they would go ahead with the "soft disconnect" and why Julie did not notify me on the phone call. I think it's already ridiculous that I'm having to pay for charges I did not make and now, I'm losing services that I've already paid for...we'll see if I get that refund.... Thanks Time Warner Cable for your ongoing Customer NO Service!!!
Time Warner Cable is crooked!
Ditto to every single complaint listed here. Ive had nothing but horrible service and false advertising from those crooks. Lets all contact the public utilities commission. Seriously. We shouldnt stand for it. We spent 30 mins on the phone carefully choosing our downgrade because our all the best pckg was raised to $148.00 and we said, no more! After we had chosen everything and our service was downgraded. Nothing was what we were promised. After talking to 6 diff people and supervisors, we were told what we ordered didnt even exist. We are canceling all services with them. Before all this, we saw a special on tv and called for it, and they didnt even know what special we were talking about!
Time Warner Cable - Time Warner/Fox Ohio Sports Net
Time Warner Dayton Ohio was covering the Xaver-Wake Forest Basketball Game on January 3rd, 2010. With 1 minute and 30 seconds left in the first overtime, Time Warner cut the game and showed some movie program. So after watching the game for three hours I don't get to see the ending. Would they do this if you were watching a movie. Unbelievable!! I was thinking of switching to Direct Tv or the Dish Network so I can get the Thursday night NFL games. Although I have been a Time Warner Customer for 33 years tonight makes my decision easy. I have a friend that just signed a deal with Direct for a $500 coupon he used to buy a new HD TV. I guess the television networks did not learn anythinng from the "Heidi" incident many years ago wherein they cut off the Jets overtime game to show the movie. At least Heidi was a known movie and I don't have a clue what Time Warner switched to to cut off the game.
In 1966 my wife an I had a 13 inch television with three channels. Now I have a 42 inch television with digital cable and more channels than I can count and I still can only count on three channels. I have a number of channels called "Unavailable At This Time". Since...Read more

Time Warner Cable in Greensboro, North Carolina - Time Warner has terrible customer service!
Time Warner has the worst customer service of any company I have ever done business with. My family recently singed up for a "bundle" that include cable, internet and phone. I tried to call customer service to set up my voice mail so I could access my messages and the customer service rep "Shenquia" said she could not help me unless I knew my husbands SS#. Currently my husband is out of town and I don't know his number. I asked to speak to a Manger and my request was denied. Every time I tried to explain my situation, I kept getting "I apologize, but no one can help you". So in other words I am paying for a service I can't use!!! Way to go TWC. Once my contract is up, you will never see my business again!
