Time Warner Cable in Tucson, Arizona - Transfer of Service Debacle
My family uses Time Warner Cable and our biggest problem was occasional bad reception due to old equipment and faulty buried lines. When I moved to the Dallas area I selected TWC as my cable company. I had no problems ... until it came time to move. I called ahead to set up an appointment to transfer service to my new address. My account address was changed, the appointment was made, the call was pleasant and I was not worried. A week before the transfer, my cable shut off completely. I called to complain and was told that my service was shut off due to a move. They had recorded the wrong date and said that a technician could not come to reconnect my services until almost a week later. After hours on the phone, I got my services re-connected later that day. I made sure at that time to re-confirm my transfer appointment for the following week. I got a call later asking me how the transfer had gone, to which I replied that I hadn't transferred anything yet. The appointment a week later went perfectly, and the technician was very helpful. However, I received several calls telling me that the transfer never happened and I would need to re-schedule connection at the new address. Finally, enough notes were left on our account and TWC got the message that I did indeed have service at the new address. I got a call about a week after the move from TWC saying that a person had called them and told them they were moving into my address and wanted a connection appointment. Aparently they never removed my old address from my account or shut off. I told them very succinctly that I had not been living at that address for a week and would not be paying for their failure to disconnect the cable at the appropriate time. They said they would make a note on my account to disconnect and remove the old address. I called several days later to inquire about my bill since I had not received one for my previous month's service. I was told that my account showed I was scheduled for a disconnect of service. I asked what address they were referring to and, sure enough, they were going to disconnect my cable at the NEW address. After going through the entire story again, I got the disconnect notice removed from the account. I'm sure I haven't heard the last from this incompetant company.

I have had time warner cable for less than a year, and twice my cable has gone out for the day. Both times this has happen on Mon. night football,Angles playoffs,and Pres. debates. The lack of service is one thing,but the lack of comuncation and lack of answers they provide are insulting. After being on hold for 25min. I drove down to the orange county officewhile still on hold and know one has any answers for me. The customer service is horable. I was told a supervisor would contact me but no one ever called to let me know what was wrong with the serive in my area.

Time Warner seems to think that by using their telephone operators the Supervisors and CEO's can hide behind them, only to have the clients not getting great service and yet take our money. I am tired of getting disconnected from my internet sessions and not getting my TV working properly there for all my "tapings" on their DVR are not taping because there is no signal. Then it comes back all by it self within a few minutes at the most an hour or so. When you call they always want to set up an appt, Meaning YOU cannot be out of the house for an entire half or full day waiting for them, and then they don't show up...
Time Warner Cable in Green Bay, Wisconsin - Time Warner-Road Runner Cable
I live in Northeast Wisconsin and almost everyday Road Runner Broadband does not work at some point or is so slow that the test says it is barely faster than dialup. When you call, you get the same boilerplate: turn off computer and modem, wait 60 seconds, etc and the person is usually a foreigner who does not seem to understand or give a ***. The standard response when nothing helps is to ask you to pay more for more bandwidth. I think they have oversold their service and everyone else pays when people are downloading movies, etc---Road Runner is not worth $50 per month they charge. It is a ripoff.

Time Warner Cable in Reston, Virginia - Time Warner keeps giving me unworking parts.
In mid-July I got the Time Warner package in Brooklyn. Two days after I got it the modem they brought me died as it was used. It took me almost a week to get service again, both computer and telephone. When the serviceman came to bring the new modem he said, "I don't know why they gave you this junk." Tonight my remote broke and I can't use it. I am told I have to pay to have a new one sent to me or I have to bring the remote to Time Warner. I'll do neither. I'm going to get a different company. Time Warner is not worth the problems and cost. I cannot believe that people tolerate this inferior service.
Time Warner Cable Screws Veterans
I got activated with the National Guard and sent overseas, and these *** ignored my call to cancel service - said they'd shut it off, but kept charging me. Illegal as per the Soldier & Sailor's Relief Act. Had to get a base lawyer involved, after NONE of their personnel were willing to help. They don't even provide contact information for their local office - got routed to a call center. Even after they admitted culpability, THEY STILL TRIED TO CHARGE ME AT A SLIGHTLY REDUCED AMOUNT. These dirtbags don't deserve your service - they sure didn't deserve mine. If there are any alternatives to Time Warner in your area, take them - couldn't be worse. If there aren't, get a library card. God bless
