Disappointed Extremely I was told my boyfriend and I qualify for the Dell rewards program. When I called to make sure his name is also on our account I was told I cannot add another name to the account and that because the account is in my name, and our previous service provider is in his name, we are not going to now qualify. They said they would also escalate the issue. I left a message on the supervisor of the supervisor (who was very unprofessional over the phone). My boyfriend is part of our account. We use his email and his credit card for billing. All I called to do is make sure that we wouldn't have a problem with this process. I was on the phone over an hour. I am extremely disappointed with Time Warner Southern California. This definitely seems like a scam... We have done nothing wrong and are treated badly. We were told we could cancel our internet account and bring boxes, etc. into the store, and start over in his name. OMG....all I asked for is to amend his name to be clear for those checking the registration. Time Warner has also been a headache technically. We have been in the local store 3plus times, an hour wait each time, in about one month. We will be looking elsewhere for service. FYI...make sure when you sign up with a partner that BOTH names are on the account. (I hope this helps someone....) I advise against Time Warner. I had service with them before and I feel they are managed or owned by a different company. They used to have great customer service. What happened?!

I started my internet service after moving to Columbus Ohio with Insight. It was a very sad day when I received notice a year later that TWC has taken over Insight. When signing up with Insight, I purchased both the router and modem to avoid having to rent. For the following 2 years, every August a equipment rental fee would show up randomly. Had it corrected twice, no big deal. Then came time to move out of Ohio and close my account. My last bill was $166, which consisted of both a router and modem "un-returned". Jesus, you'd think after telling them twice that my equipment was purchased when I signed up with Insight they would have a record of it somewhere. Okay, no big deal, gave them a call 9/10, had it removed. I thought I was finally done. Then came 2 debt collection agency calls on this very bill. Not only that, the last day of my service was 8/29. I called about the error on the bill 9/10. The debt collection calls came on 9/23. That's not even a month since the last day of my service, how in the world did my account make it over to their debt collection department?!? The errors on billing I can take, but messing with a person's credit history due to these simple errors is no joke. I've called again and after speaking to her "supervisor", the lady stated there should be no effect on my credit report since technically, my account HASN'T reached their debt collection branch yet, according to the system. Huh?? How are they calling me then?? "Sometimes they can start calling 30 days in advance." Right. I will wait a few days before obtaining a copy of my credit report. We'll see.

Time Warner Cable - TWC changed call forwarding procedures to make it a pain in the posterior

Whenever I will be away from home on a trip I forward calls to my TWC number to my cell phone number. It used to be simple: key *72, key the cell phone number, wait for cell phone to ring and hang up. Now I have to log in to my TWC account, click on several slow loading pages to do the same thing. TWC why did you make the process of forwarding calls to another number more complicated and take longer? Give us back the option of doing it with the phone keypad instead of logging on. (The bells and whistles you added to call forwarding won't be used by most residential users.) If it doesn't happen soon, I'll be closing my account. There are other providers out there.

I'm very upset over this for my info was supposed to be private due to I am a domestic violence victim, time Warner has only been putting me off, the employee has been removed, however I DONT feel this is sufficient to the nature off this incident. Time Warner Cable - Internet Outage

To Whom it May Concern: I am writing to register a complaint against Time Warner Cable. Our account # is xxxxx2901. In the last 2 months we have been without internet service twice for over one week each time. When we call customer service they say that is the best they can do. In my opinion, waiting one week or longer for an internet repair is totally unacceptable. I am 61 years old and I do not recall ever having to wait over a week for any type of utility service, except in the case of outages due to severe weather. Some of the reasons for our frustration are as follows: • As previously stated, this is the second time in less than 2 months that our internet has gone out – both times for over one week. • The last time it went out, I called on 8/6/2014 (I spoke to someone named Monica) and nicely and respectfully complained about 8/11/2014 being too long to wait, I told her I was going to complain to someone officially at the state level and asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold and another lady picked up the phone and said: “Erasing call. No response from caller” and hung up. • Our home phone line is internet based and if we don’t have internet, we have no phone service. Our cellular service is right at the edge of the signal range for our carrier and we frequently do not have cellular phone service. Consequently, no internet means we often have no phone. • We have a family member with chronic medical issues and in the event they needed emergency medical care may not have a way to call 911! That is a situation I do not believe any family would want to be in. • In addition, we have a family member who is a college student and relies on the internet to submit homework, complete on-line tests, research for class projects, and communicate with other students and instructors,… Last week was finals week and because our internet was out he had to drive 20 miles to a library at the University of Kentucky in order to complete an on-line assignment. • We called to report a problem on 8/6//2014 and scheduled an appointment (a 5 day wait) with a Time Warner repair person for today, 8/11/2014, between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. A Time Warner representative even called me back to confirm the appointment. At 4:30pm this afternoon I received a voice mail from Time Warner saying this was their 3rd call attempt and they would not be coming. According to my phone log, that was the only call I received from them. I have not left the house the entire day. • When my wife called Time Warner in response to the above, she spoke to Roger and he attempted for quite some time to get them here tonight but was unable to do so. Roger said he was turning our situation over to someone else and they would be calling us back this evening to let us know if they were going to be able to redirect a repair person tonight or to reschedule. It is now after 9:00pm and we have yet to hear from anyone. We keep our part of the contract by paying our bill every month. Time Warner should be required to fulfill their contract by supplying dependable internet service and, in the event of a disruption, responding quickly. NOT 5 – 10 DAYS LATER!

What an awful experience. First of, I called to request internet services and I should've know from that point that this was a horrible company. Requesting services consists of them getting your address and personal information and make an appoint. It shouldn't take 2.5hrs.But it did. I had to call 4 different times and at the end they had gotten my name and phone number wrong. I asked them to correct the information and they said they did. My appointment time was between 2:00 and 3:00pm and the technician would call when they were on their way. Not only did they not show up, but they never even call to let me know. When I called customer service they told me that the technician was held up on the last appointment but assured me they would be at my place by 4 and they were going to call. 4 o'clock. Nothing. Not a call not a technician. I called customer service again this time they said that the technician would be there between 5 and 7pm. 7 o'clock. Nothing. Not a call. Not a technician. When I called customer service they told me that they had called but turns out they had a wrong number. The incompetent team that set up my account typed in some random number and the next incompetent team didn't bother to verify any of that information the first 3 times I called. I waited 5 HOURS for this people to show up. I had to pay for my daughter's day care for 2 extra hours because I couldn't go get her in time. And missed out on the very little and precious time I had to spend with her for the weekend. I rather not have internet than let this people collect my hard earn money. They are disrespectful and have no regards for their customers time.

Time Warner Cable - Cancelation practices of Time Warner are fraudulent.

I called Time Warner on June 15, 2014 to cancel my account. They told me to return a modem that was issued to me by Insight Communications in 2007. I went to their office on June 21,2014 because that modem went bad in 2012 and I bought one at an office depot type store. Insight knew about this because a service tech called his boss when we were having a broadband service call at our house. That supervisor told the tech that the model modem that I bought was equal to or superior to their Arris modem and it was ok for me to use. (back to the cancelation) When I reported their modem missing the rep gave me a number to call to trace their modem. I called and a tracer was started. No one from their tracing department called me back. Over the next two months I have chatted to serveral reps on line and have the transcript of those chats. Each time I explained what I have done each time and told them that my account should be canceled as of June 15,2014. One chat confirmed that that is when I went offline with them. I keep getting billed though for monthly service. Now the harassing phone calls are starting wanting me to pay for service that I am not receiving. I am not going to pay it. I will pay for the modem that is lost, but they are fraudulently keeping my account open to charge me for service. I've been told to send what I have to the State Attorney General. It is my only recourse now or get a lawyer. I will gladly participate in a class action suit against Time Warner and offer a copy of my online chats that confirm that they are perpetuating fraud.

Time Warner Cable - Identity Thief receives continuously access to my account/

I have a stalker who makes my life a living ***. That person called Time Warner pretending to be me and actually receives access to me account and information. My billing address was changed to a place I have never been, my phone number changed, I received programs I did not order, I have received 20 remotes and counting. For the last month, I called Time Warner almost every day at least 20 times and told them about my problem. Every time, they promised It wont happen again. We changed our security pin at least 10 times and also changed the name on the account. And yet, the same person just called Time Warner yesterday, added HBO and Playboy channel and ordered two more remotes. And we are suppose to pay for Time Warner's incompetence to protect the safety of their customers. Be aware!

Cancelled my TW account in May of 14 but TW says it takes a month to cancel an account. Really? A month? Tried to return their router but can't because we don't have a cancellation number. You have to wait a month to get that. So I get stuck paying for another month (June), moving the router to my new home and mailing back to them. Oh but wait. Is it over? Nope. they send me a bill for July. I had a Business Class account which says there is "always" someone for me to talk to. So I call. After going through their ridiculous voice menus I get "Sorry. Our offices are closed. Call back." Run don't walk from Time Warner

Time Warner Cable - Tried to downgrade, ended up cancelling

Went online to downgrade my service to save a few dollars. Had everything done, including a confirmation number. Unable to schedule service online, so I called. Transferred twice and then on hold. Prompt asked for my number for a return call. Call never happened. Next few days, I get a couple emails confirming my change and telling me I will be contacted. 5 days later I reach out again via phone. Transferred after 30 minutes on hold and then lose the call. I call back again and do the whole dance over. Transfer, transfer, Call back prompt. Also started an online chat simultaneously. They say there, that I must call. Finally get the right person on phone. Now they say the package I selected is meant for me to keep the home phone which I repeatedly said I dont want or need. They quote me a price $20 higher. I tell them I want to switch to what I chose, or cancel me. I get pitch after pitch for packages. I stand firm and insist that they cancel my whole account. Still resistance. I say I would not accept there service at this point if it was free. I offer to bring in the equipment myself. Account finally cancelled. 5 days, half a dozen phone calls, just trying to downgrade and now they lose a loyal 25 year customer. Pathetic.

Had similar issue. I had 30 mbps for $60.

Wanted to downgrade to 15mbps for 35. They told me they can downgrade to 15mbps but it will still be $60 since I was getting a 12 month promotional offer and if I downgrade the offer would no longer be valid.

This is just ***. I'm switching to att Uverse

Time Warner Cable - Overcharged by Time Warner Co., in Cleveland Ohio

Back in December 2013, I have requested that my Time Warner account be put on a temporary vacation hold for the period of six months. I was advised that I would be charged $44.94 each month for the duration of the vacation hold. This was true only in December 2013, however in January 2014 my credit card was charged double this amount, despite the fact that I have paid the January fee by a debit card. What's wrong with their recordkeeping? Of course, I have disputed this amount with the credit card it was charged to. So far so good, right? Not so fast. About a week later I checked the credit card records, and low and behold, I am charged almost triple the initial amount (over hundred $$) I called Time Warner and spoke repeatedly with their reps, each time a different rep. Each time I was assured that yes indeed, I should have been charged $44.94 each month while the account is on vacation hold, and that this mistake would be fixed. However it appears that they are fixing it backwards. Will start calling again first thing tomorrow. I do not recommend Time Warner; STAY AWAY if you can help it.

Eeek, that is one of the worst horror stories I have heard yet! Unofturnatly I hear these stories everyday, loyal customers getting bamboozled by TWC or simply overcharged and undeserved.

Like you, I would call and call, and escalate this until you get at least, reimbursed for wrongful charges and then ask for a free month for the hassle.

Stay strong, be pleasant with the CSR's, and demand that this company LISTENS to it's customers.

Time Warner Cable - Ha refusing to service a rented address for prior tenants bill

twc wont allow earth link to set up at my house because a prior tenant owes money I called the bbb and they lied to them to cover there *** saying I was a non paying customer .... when I don't owe them money ,..... they at that point had my arm twisted to I asked them what they needed to do than they illegally gave me names and account numbers and amount owed of prior customers at my address for me to track down illegally and make them pay there bills I got one customer to catch up but the one prior to that I cant find and they wont even let another company come set my service up ..... so pissed *** it ill let someone else argue with them ill steal someone elses dsl or something so fed up with twc and service and lack of service they are acting like the mafia no other company will let out info like that and have you "hunt down" prior customers..... like wtf that's there job theres is to take my money and turn my *** on..... now I have a bill for services I never received and someone elses bill.... wrong names social security numbers but its on my credit report now thanks time warner ***...... so gunna find some laywer who wants to make a mint off of this

Time Warner Cable - Forced to pay for someone else's bill!!!

I too am receiving a notice that I must pay for a bill that is in someone else's name......It was a ex-boyfriend's account and now that he no longer lives here, TW sent me a notice that I must pay the bill or they are going to disconnect my services!! This is outrageous and ridiculous!! They should not be allowed to get away with this!!! This has to be illegal!! Otherwise, I guess I can just run up a bill at an address, and someone else will be forced to pay my debts when I move out!! That would make a lot of sense!!!
