Time Warner Cable - NO service for DAYS!

twice this month I have been down - no cable, Internet or Phone. the first time for 5 days, and now for 4 days. Each time - they can not send a tech out to fix the problem - blown filter?? I work from home, and now have run over my data plan on my cell phone. do they care?? - NOT at all. I pay my bill EVERY month - but I am not getting the service I should. their phone system is a joke. We need to get competition in the local cable provider space!!!! I urge all of us to write our state reps to push for more competition. this is unacceptable.

I contacted TWC about service to my home. I explained that I had been denied service about fifteen years ago and was told that if TW ever pulled a line up Benjamin Dr, I could then get service. TW pulled that line up to a new housing development last year. The customer representative said my address was in the computer system as connectable but he would send out a survey crew to be sure since I had been denied before. Three days later TW calls me and leaves a message saying that I was connectable and to call back to choose my package and installation date. I called back that night and picked the bundle package for TV, phone and internet at a cost of 150 a month with a 50 dollar installation fee. We set up the installation date for a few days later. The man comes and then calls his supervisor and then tells me I am not connectable and leaves. I called to try to get TW to honor their verbal agreement to provide me with service and was denied because I am further than 1000 ft from the tap. I was rudely told by customer service that I would have to pay for the line to be ran to my home if I wanted service and to call another department and was given the number. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for anything except the amount that was agreed upon over the phone. The mistake was TW, not mine, I should be hooked up like I was promised to be. I was given an account number and the installer was sent to my home. I was denied service that I was told twice that I was connectable for. TW entered into a verbal agreement with me to provide service and I want the services I was promised for the amount we agreed upon. I sent this as a email to TW corporate complaints. I received two calls two days later. They told me that they would provide me with service only if I paid to run the line at a cost of seven thousand dollars.

My son died on 6/15. On 6/17 we called to ask what we needed to do to discontinue his services. He was paid up until 6/24. On 6/20 we turned in his modem, and were told they did not need to see his death certificate. on 7/14 we received a bill for 6/24 to 7/25. Called again and was told they needed to see a death certificate!! And, to send it too the TWC Recovery Unit. Remember, they owe us a rebate for 4 days. On 7/16 a notice was sent from a debt collection agency!! I lost it. Called the Debt Collection Agency, they didn't know what to do, send them a death certificate. Asked them about the TWC Recovery Unit I am to send a certificate to. They didn't know anything about that............... I understand how some people can lose it. But this fits in with everything I've heard about Time Warner Cable.

This is a pretty astonishing fact considering I own a small business and deal with merchant services, used car salesmen and mortgage companies. This is no way a slight in general of those industries, just giving a general breadth of the situation. So, let me sum up my experience with TWC: I moved from WA State roughly 3 years ago. I had previously been a customer of comcast cable for 12 years, which is rated as the WORST is customer service. Let me tell you, I've had quadruple the problems with TWC than I have had with Comcast. It all started with faulty hardware. Boxes that would freeze up, in demand wouldn't work at least 40% of the time. I've called, returned boxes, same problem. Discounting my bill, never fixing the overall problem. Tonight, I've completely had it. Last week, I received a bill that was $10 higher than normal. Obviously, my promotion period ran out. I called to remedy the situation. A guy in the Philippines answers and tells me there is a great deal right now if I bundle a phone service. I don't care but obviously I will take the lower rate with the bundled service. He offers me my same channels, phone service, etc. for $153.02. I'm happy, go on with my day. About 4 days pass, I get home tonight and for some reason my channels are not working, except local channels(Fox, ABC, NBC, etc.) as well as HBO. I figure it is a technical issue. After spending 40 minutes on hold, call center in Philippines informs me that is the package I agreed to. What???? Who in their right mind would pay that much for local channels and HBO? What a weird package. So, I spend another 30 minutes on hold waiting for a manager who finally answers and tells me to hold again....I hang up after 10 minutes. I have the call logs and will post them here if anyone wants to see. So, I call back, but this time ask to speak to someone in America. I don't ever do this but I feel that the Philippine workers don't understand the situation I'm in or what was promised to me. They transfer me to the "home phone department." Very friendly guy from Tennessee. He tries to help me and tells me I should have more channels. After resetting my modem numerous times, no dice. Finally, after about a half an hour on the phone I ask him what my bill is. Well, turns out my current bill is $10 more than it was before, all for the great deal of having no channels except local and HBO! WHAT A STEAL! I was livid. I asked to be transferred to someone who could help, and this is where it gets good. The woman he transferred me to referred to her self as a "customer service specialist." She had a huge attitude and was the exact opposite of what that term embodies. I explained to her, at that point that I had been on the phone/hold with their company for 2.5 hours and explained my situation. At first, she seemed sympathetic and told me she would "correct the problem." So, she told me she would look at new promotions to figure me a new rate. Meanwhile, I told her what I was promised. She asked me for a operator ID # which I actually wrote down because of my bad experiences with this company. I tell her the #, 2514960. She rudely tells me that's "not a real #." This is the number their employee who takes calls on their 800 number gave me. This is how absolutely screwed this company is. They have 3rd party vendors working for them and they can't even track who they are, they give customers numbers that don't mean anything. So, after that, she keeps me on hold while "looking for good deals." I ask her how long it will be as I've already been on hold or phone for 3 hours now, and she replies very snarky that she "doesn't know" and is trying to get the "best deal" for me. Well, let me tell you, after waiting(more like wasting) for another 30 minutes of my life she comes back with half my movie channels gone for the same price I was paying before. WOW, SIGN ME UP! I asked her if it was good business to either get my$150/month or $50 for 1 month and never again and she was dumbfounded. I told her to cancel my service and the imbecile couldn't even figure that out. She told me to hold, I hung up the phone. I am telling you, I have NEVER negatively reviewed a company in my life but if you have a chance, stay away from this company. They are the WORST. I'm sure they will delete this on their page but I will continue to post everywhere I can. TWC is a joke, as soon as I became a customer, I sold your stock. If anyone with a brain is reading this and knows how to treat a customer, you have my name and can look up my account. Zip is 92117.

They think that by giving me one month free this solves my issue with them. It doesn't. I would say that no this issue has NOT been resolved. So now I pay $110 for internet only...

WTF!

The whole thing is ridiculous. I am definitely NOT a happy customer.

I would just like to take a moment to say what a horrible company Time Warner Cable is. Don't get me wrong, the first year was amazing! I find it ironic that they have a commercial making fun of cable companies that "up" their price's after the first year on a 2 year contract and call the first year a promotion, because that is EXACTLY what they said to me! I'm currently looking for another provider, and I will NEVER recommended them to anyone! Absolutely horrible! and most the time I would stay on hold for a call center overseas! Along with all this frustration I also had to fight with them for a refund on my internet because we were not getting what we paid for! There was (in the words of the tech) a code in our modem that he could not change. I do not like any aspect of Time Warner Cable. Now that they have merged with Charter, it is going to get even worse. First of all, my one year '"promotion" ended and of course, I have to call and argue/negotiate with them to try and lower my bill. If I don't, it will go up by $45 a month. I can't afford an increase like that. So, today, I call their A-1 foreign customer service and was on the phone for over 25 minutes trying to get my bill lowered and the guy refused to do it. He was very rude and arrogant about me being on a tight budget. He said I would basically have to get most of my channels taken off and my internet speed drastically reduced to keep the price I had been receiving. I told him that was unacceptable and that I would switch to another provider. He basically didn't care. This guy was even in their retention department! This company is an absolute joke and all they care about is raking in record profits. Not only this, but their cable service is garbage anyway and it goes out frequently when there is a storm or high winds. Picture quality isn't that good especially on the 720p channels. My internet service was spotty and slower than what I was paying for. Whatever you do-go with a different provider. Time Warner could care less about it's customers and providing quality service.

Horrible customer service rude and inconsistent. There system is bad your account says one thing but the computer system does not reflect the correct information.

Like posted payments, correct balance,. And any payment arrangements that was made timewarner sucks.

I won't go through all the tribulations they put me through this past week in detail - I'm exhausted - As a 20+ years customer with bills rounding in the $235+ monthly on average I'm totally disgusted by this company. To start... I just wanted to downgrade my services to internet and phone only - simple enough, right? But I got sucked in with their offers which ended up not matching what they said so I had to call AGAIN and again! I almost lost my 20+ years phone number in one of those "new" bundles - they never told me I would have no phone - they just said "you'll have the same services but more channels for only $5 extra from the day-before-bundle that had its own mistake" I said sure, great! A day later no phone! And again back to dealing with TWC!! If you ever get a Brian but specially a Dustin at their "special customer department", just hang up and try again (trust me! Implying that I was lying and that I was the one who had requested to cancel the phone - repeating himself about the lack of internet speed I would have to play games, and me telling him no online game here --and him going "stop interrupting me!" ***! Of course I'm interrupting - I do NOT want to hear anything but what I want! And FINALLY I got it - Returned all the TV hardware - Bought my own modem/wifi (10Mbps is plenty to stream) -- total? $56 including the phone (and yes Dustin was able to get my old number back - he was kind of an imbecile but he wasn't totally incompetent) The irony? Is that being a $56 customer gives me access to the cheaper bundles and upgrades online without having to call! Thank you TWC but NO! PS My local TWC center is terrific - I went yesterday to return the hardware - from Dustin $70+ my bill dropped to $56 (not sure how but told the guy I had my own modem/router and he also offered TV for an extra $10/month which I declined - but if I change my mind I'll just go to the store) - If you live near one, it's worth going instead of calling to upgrade or downgrade IMO.

My cable and internet went down 5 times yesterday when we had the high winds here in Anderson Township/Cincinnati, Ohio. I never lost power though. You guys have such poor and unreliable service. It didn't even rain or storm yesterday. A couple of weeks ago, we had a thunderstorm and my Internet went down for 2 hours. I asked 2 people at your company and both told me that weather wouldn't affect my service. So, I will be cutting the cord and going back with an antenna since you provide service like the horrible satellite companies so. They go out every time it rains. Plus you are constantly raising your rates which is unjustified.

Time Warner Cable has the worst service of any internet and cable provider around. I have their cable, internet, and home phone service. I use to have Dish Network and their service was so much better. First of all, the HD and digital picture quality was so much better with satellite. With Time Warner, the picture quality is poor. Most HD channels are not clear or sharp. The digital channels look like analog. The cable is always going out. The channels frequently pixelate. The technician told me weather wouldn't affect it, but it does a lot. During a heavy rain, the internet slows to a crawl and the cable goes out. I never get the speeds I am paying for either with their wifi and modem. Their service is not good and I do not recommend them. I am located on Woodruff Road in Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.

in April of 2014 I asked Time Warner Cable (TWC) to install phone and internet at my business. I gave them my landlady's phone number and her address which is adjacent to our building. I also told TWC that they could access their cable at my land lady's house. A few weeks later a TWC representative apparently came out to our location and spoke with a STRANGER in the PARKING LOT and the stranger told the rep that he was not interested in having Time Warner Cable so the rep tore up all the paperwork and went away. It took weeks to get TWC back. In the mean time I had to get Frontier Communication to install phone and internet. Frontier gave me a (208) 883-xxxx phone number and really *** internet. Through diligence and perseverance I was finally able to get TWC to install phone and cable for internet. TWC could not PORT MY (208) 883-xxxx phone number so I had TWC for internet and FRONTIER for phone! Time Warner Cable did NOT GET MY NUMBER PORTED Until October! What we need is another provider - one that runs itself as a business and not a monopoly. and just let me say, "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

We had to move our business to a new location. As luck would have it, TWC doesn't service that address - which is 1.5 miles from our old address. So we have to pay for new service with someone else, AND they want $1,013 to cancel our service (by the way that is an 80% discount of what they WERE going to charge us) because THEY don't provide service where we moved!!! If we had cancelled because we wanted a better price or different provider - that would be one thing. We wanted TWC, we WERE happy with them. It's NOT our fault they don't provide service in our new location!!!!!

What do I have to do for you guys to make my cable and internet more reliable and provide the speeds I am paying for? Your service is the absolute worst out here in Anderson Township 45255, specifically along Woodruff Road. I have never gotten internet speeds over 14 MB download even though I'm paying for 30. There are frequent outages and network problems. Ive made numerous calls to tech support and they keep saying there is no problem in my area but a trouble ticket would be opened. How about actually resolving the issues and not lying to me saying there isn't a problem. A lot of my channels pixelate and digitalize during active motion scenes. Channels like Fox News, Freeform, and CW do not look clear and sharp at all. My cable goes out a lot during the early morning hours. You seriously need to upgrade your cable lines and internet service. Cincinnati Bell's Fioptics is so much better quality and is a lot more stable and reliable.

Don't go with windstream!!! 4 45 minute holds and 3 disconnects on their end with no call back.

I agree with you-I have a lot of the same issues on the Eastside of town to. Calling them does no good because they won't fix the problems.

They are more than aware of the issues going on.

A tech who came to my house even told me they know about the issues but won't fix them. If they keep providing service that goes out a lot or internet that is slow, they will lose a lot of customers.
