Time Warner Cable - Multiple daily outages

TWC has been suffering daily outages for our area lately. This eats directly into our pocket as my wife works from home and is responsible for data down-time. We contacted technical support to see if there was any information on a resolution or even a reason for the poor service but received the standard, "I don't have any information on that". We looked into switching to Cincinnati Bell, but they have the worst customer service ratings in the industry and have as many service disruption complaints as TWC. Stuck between a rock and hard-place since like everyone else the area is monopolized with only two providers thanks to our wonderful local government crooks.

Time Warner Cable - Fed Up

At our home we only have the Time Warner Internet. Noticed our bill slowly increasing over time from $60.00 to $80.00 this past bill cycle. I called customer service to inquire only to be told that "your bill amount has increased because you asked for an upgrade." I replied..."No...no changes have been made. We have not requested anything." At that point I ask for the extra $10.00 upgrade fee to be removed. The customer Service rep places me on hold, comes back, and says "I spoke to my supervisor and we are removing $1.00 from your bill. $1.00 dollar! At this point, I am so pissed I hung up.

Time Warner Cable - TWC bad billing and tracking policies

TWC has an arbitrary billing system. Once a year, without warning they boost your cable bill claiming you were on some "special" plan and it ran out. So you call to complain, and they put you on a "similar" plan for about the same cost. Now this year it happened again, but when I called they said the new reduced rate plan will be over $20 per month more, no exception. Next, to get the cost down, I decided to purchase two Roku players to replace my two HD boxes I rent from TWC, which costs over $10 a month to rent per box. I bring them in and I'm told I have to keep one to retain the service that allows the use of the TWC app on the roku units. Now, I don't need to physically hook up that one box to get the service, so obviously the fee is what is expected. But I'm told I have to take a box home with me, even though I don't need it. Very frustrating. TWC is the only source of high speed internet in my area or I would drop them in a minute but for that. This is why ALL monopolies should be outlawed, because they do not care about customers and there are no market forces that will make them care. TWC has good people working for them, but the company is heartless and quite frankly ***. Rather than force a customer to take equipment they do not need, track their service using a special code. Too technical for them? Worst company I have to do business with. They are very, very bad.
