Time Warner Cable - Outage or Bad Box--TW Can't Tell

Cable TV has been out for 2 days. Yesterday customer service said it was an outage, DK when it would be fixed. Today online customer service: first tech said outage fixed, problem in box, tried a reset, failed, said I could take box in for service myself or wait 4 days for service in home. I objected. Transferred to "supervisor tech" who said there was still an outage. Could not explain why other tech lied to me; further tech could not offer any way for me to confirm whether it was an outage or a bad box. Second tech did not offer credit or time frame for a fix. Leery about box as have had several TW box problems over the years, last time they gave me "new" box that was actually used.

Omg, I am so sorry for your suffering with cable I just can't imagine the distress and inconveience you have suffered , well I have but I survived and was able to move forward! Almost Nothing sucks more than loosing DVr recordings!

This too shall I pass my friend.. And there is hope beyond cable

Time Warner Cable - Time-Warner Cable has awful service in restoring service after storm

My eighty-one year old mom's tv, phone & internet have been out since 3/6/14. Trouble is in the line, per Time Warner Cable, who checked her line with me on my cell phone. They can't send anyone out to an appointment for her before 3/20! There was a bad storm on 3/6, but two weeks is far too long to have to wait! They say there are no other outages in her area. I unplugged/replugged the boxes, the hard drive, the tv, everything -- no change. She should get a month free because of their non-responsiveness. She refuses to use a cell, saying paying Time Warner Cable every month should be enough. I agree wiith her.

Time Warner Cable - Total Corporate Icomptence

1. I could not get the volume control on my new TV Vizio to work. I tried several online help sources including TW's and struck out --for nearly an hour. 2. Then I pent 20+ minutes with a TW rep on the phone. "We don't show Vizios in our manuals, or my control." Her conclusion: "The control is too old." 3. I went online for my closest TW store's phone number. TW has the same national "800 phone number" online and in local phone books. The closest store --and I live in Greater Cleveland mind you-- is a slow, 35 minute, stop-and-go drive. Again, no local phone number in books or online. 3. I spoke to the TW phone rep at that 800 number, and asked for the local store number: "Our service centers cannot accept incoming calls." I said I wanted to be sure that store had remotes in stock. 4. Answer: "You can't get a control today anyway, because our systems are down nationally. Even if they had them, they can't pull one out of inventory because the systems are down." YOU CAN'T CALL INTO A TW STORE, and TW can't give an online warning that "our systems are down today, so we probably can't help you." (March 1, 2014) I almost wasted an hour plus on the road today, and I still have to take that waste-of-time risk later because I can't call in! And they don't deliver anything, of course. Nice to know since I was thinking about dropping AT&T Uverse, but my only other land option is TWC. Figured as much.

They all suck, and none of them care that they do. They have a monopoly on the infrastructure and a contract with the local city council at the helm...being paid off no doubt. I'm getting to the point where I think I'll just get a network connection from some second tier discount provider and a subscription to Netflix and an Apple TV.

Screw the cables and AT&T.

Time Warner Cable - Time Warner added a fee for a modem that was returned two years age (2011) to our bill in October 2013

My husband called to cancel our TV and phone service and keep our internet service. In our next bill we see a charge for $83 for a cable modem that was returned in 2011 and now Time Warner says was never returned. He went to the Time Warner service center and they said they would look into this. 1. If this is the case, why did it take two years for this to show up on our bill? 2. Why didn't this charge come up when my husband added TV service to our bill back from earlier this year? My husband went back to the Time Warner service center since any effort by phone caused him to kept on hold or just disconnected. The representative said the case was closed and there was nothing we could do about it. The representative was rude and unhelpful. This is just down right stealing from the consumer.

Don't pay it. Rather, send them a letter telling them you returned it, etc.

and provide them with a copy of the return acknowledgement---you do have one, don't you? Whenever you return something to any company, you need to ensure you have a receipt for the property or they can come back later and say you did not return it. In any event, don't pay it if you are sure you did return it.

If all else fails and they cancel your internet service, go with someone else. But don't pay it just to "make the problem go away." This would be caving to blackmail.

Time Warner Cable - Worst Customer Service Ever!!!!!

So I was really considering switching from Dish TV to Time Warner but have now changed my mind. Time Warner’s customer service is the worst. It took me three days to just order the service because of the long wait times. Eventually, I went online and open a chat conversation with one of their customer service associates. I must say he was helpful and I was able to place my order. Every time I have called the wait times have been so long that I have simply given up. Today I received an email stating there was a problem with my order and I needed to call. Dreading having to call I did so and once again I had a 21 minute wait period. The person that answered the call spoke broken English. I could hardly understand his accent. He told me the problem was there was existing service at my address and I would have to take the modem to a Time Warner Office and have the service disconnected. I would then have to wait for a technician to come to my house and reconnect the service. I explained the service belongs to my soon to be x-wife and she has left the house and I was not responsible for it. Furthermore the modem belonged to me. He then wanted me to pay her bill, well I don’t think so. I have now cancelled my order and I guess I will stay with Dish TV. At least when you call them someone answers the call.

I am now 9 days with no email from the co time warner bought.

I have all my info in there, people wanting to buy stuff etc....

all my addresses etc.....I cant get in!!!!!!!!!!

supposedly my migration is complete !!! yet several people cannot get to me....I am old, cant see and arthritis makes it hard to write

do you think one of those people would help!!!!! they promised all local help!!! what a lie....takes me forever to spell my name, ''alpha, bravo, etc......

the only way to get to north America, ask for tier 3

Time Warner Cable - Problem at installation

I recently moved to a new residence where the previous resident had Time Warner cable. I scheduled my new service installation and the installer who was very arrogant told me that he would only install the service at the outlets which the prior tenant had and not in the locations where I wanted them. He said I could just run cables in the house to the existing outlets. I told him this was not what I wanted and asked to talk with his supervisor. About an hour later the supervisor showed up. The installer talked to him at length in my driveway before they came in. The supervisor told me the same thing as the installer. I asked them what they would do if this was a totally new installation and there were no existing outlets. They couldn't answer that. They simply wanted to do the install the easy way for them and not what I the customer wanted. I cancelled the installation and found another provider (Direct TV) who placed the outlets where I wanted them.

PS...DTV is NOT cable. It is satellite. You best be making sure you are allowed to have the dish on your home if you rented.

Are you a renter? Do you own the residence?

Unless you own the residence, you can not alter the installation.

If you live in an apartment complex, they have already have a previous requirement by the complex on where and how to do the installation. No amount of you complaining will change either of those facts.

I HAD STATICON MY PHNE FOR 3 MONTHS FINALLY THEY CAME OUT AND FIXED THE WIRING OUTSIDE NOWIT;S FIXED. THE TV SOMETIMES DOESN'T GO ON IT VERY AGGRAVATING MY DAUGHTER HAS THIS PROBLEM TO AND THE PICTURE FREEZES. I HAD ASKED FOR CREDIT BUT THE GUY REFUSED. WE ARE NOT PLEASED. Time Warner Cable - Every Service Offered Is Horrible

Not only has my DVR service not worked for the past 4 months, but every time I try to call and cancel they tell me it's cancelled and then I get charged for the service that month. Finally customer service shared with me the fact that I have to return my cable box for a different one in order for the service to be "truly" cancelled. In order to get refunded for those 4 months I have to go to the service location and hope they will approve it. Ridiculous. My movie channel never works and I am constantly getting a "channel unavailable" error message on REGULAR TV CHANNELS! Every time I try to call and fix, I am on hold forever and the problem is never resolved. When I move in a month, I vow to NEVER use Time Warner Cable again.

Time Warner Cable - Rewards card scheme to wheel in customers

I received an advertisement in the mail saying that I would get a $300 rewards card for switching to Time Warner's TV, Basic Internet & Phone package. After I cancelled my service with AT&T and signed up with Time Warner they tell me that all I get is a $50 gift card. This is very misleading and should be illegal to do to people. I have called in to resolve the issue with them and they told me that I don't qualify for the $300 gift card because I don't spend enough money. I told them that I asked them for the package as advertised. They told me it was marketing and you don't actually get $300 unless you spend alot of money with them. My bill is already $143 a month for all three services and yet $50 is all I get.

We were told several times that we could call tri stat to make sure card was registered and it would be mailed! As of today, we were told that if we had a balance in the 90 days we couldn't get the $300 card!!!

How misleading!! No TWC customer service employee has EVER told us this!! TWC NEVER EVER wants anyone to have this rewards card!!! We are at the point of cancelling because of being mislead!!!

We have had service since May!! :(

They are trying the same thing with me. I was supposed to get $200 reward gift card and they are only sending me $50. I have been on the phone for 2 days trying to get resolved and still nothing.

I told him it was a number on TWC's web site for customer service and then asked him "what kind of smart-*** comment was that?" The line went dead. I hope he enjoys his elephant testicle kabobs covered in spicy monkey-*** sauce or whatever the *** it is he's having for dinner back at his corrugated metal, hotbox shack tonight because I'm grilling prime rib in my backyard tonight, washing it down with some imported beer and after the sun sets over the tree's - I'm watching the Mayweather fight at my friends house via Direct TV which is what I'm gonna have by the end of the week.

Time Warner Cable - TWC customer service is horrible and they're expensive

Having been a TWC customer for 18 years I was getting sick of the recent massive rate increases. I tried calling and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I finally decided to continually call and did so for 30 calls. FINALLY I got ahold of a human who said they would check my billing and definately get back to me the next day. That was 3 days ago. I am switching to U-verse as soon as I am able. Time Warner costs me $150/month for basic cable and internet, and even after telling them that the cable had "snow" on it over 4x they did nothing.

Time Warner Cable - MISSING OUT ON CBS BROADCAST

I am very upset about TIMEWARNER CABLE cutting off CBS when it was part of my original package. I plan to leave TWC as soon as I find a viable alternative service company. As a customer, I feel that I am getting shortchanged by not having all the channels that I pay for. CBS is a main channel, not a fluffy cable channel with no real programs. This company cannot continue to do this and get away with it, knowing that its customers will not be pleased. By so doing, the company has no sense of pleasing its customers at all. It looks like they are so big and don't care about losing some customers. Luckily enough, there are alternative cable service companies out there. Goodbye TWC.

Time Warner Cable - Admits problem, denies repairs

We had TW for many years, with many problems, but this was the last straw. For a long time we had a problem that was "fixed" by disconnecting out HDMI cable and just running a basic RCA (red, white, and yellow) cable. I paid for an HD tv and HD service, but was told that on a tv our size, in the room it was in, we wouldn't notice a difference. What total BS!!! Eventually we got a technician in our house who was a bit disgruntled with TW himself. He admitted to us that TW was aware of the problem but was doing nothing to fix it. They were actually training their technicians techniques to distract customers and convince them that their half-a** fixes were good enough!!! We switched to AT&T the next week. It has its share of minor problems, no service is perfect. But every time we experience a little glitch we always say "At least it's not Time Warner!"

Time Warner Cable - Time Warner employee keyed my truck.

My cable mysteriously just stopped working and so naturally I called Time Warner for a worker to come out and look at the issue. When the cable guy came he said that the signal was working on their end so it was my TV, then was going to leave. It has worked two years why would my TV suddenly not be compatible with the "signal??" After calling him out on this he miraculously fixed it. Since then the channels just go out randomly. Well my neighbor saw him by my truck acting suspicious and after he left the neighbor knocked on my door to tell me. That is when I discovered he had keyed it. It's very noticeable and I actually went out earlier before the appointment and it wasn't there. Of course without proof all I could do is file a police report and put in a claims with my insurance but I am still outraged and in shock that a worker would do that.
